BOOKS · CORPORATE CREATION & STRATEGY

Hi!

I’m Lilli Messina – storyteller, designer, and illustrator.

As a child, I grew up with only two books: the Bible and a cookbook that came as gift with a set of AMC cookware. Receiving my first fairy tale books by family friends at the age of seven was a revelation – one that ignited my passion for stories and led me to study visual communication at the Art Academy in Offenbach. I wanted to create my own children’s books. Early on in 1996, I worked on visionary projects such as War of the Four Elements (a story about sustainability) and Emma und Ihr Knurrmagen (exploring healthy eating). Despite initial rejections from publishers,
I persevered.
My breakthrough came with a book series about ageing and generational conflict. These works were translated into several languages and integrated into school curriculums. To date, I’ve written or illustrated over 50 children’s books, including Little Lilly, who dreams of being big and strong, and Bitter Bad Paloma, who is searching for friends.

But raising my own children 13 years ago sparked new ideas, leading me to expand my storytelling into a new field: corporate storytelling. Today, I combine my passion for storytelling with expertise in corporate design to create strategic, authentic, and strong brand narratives. Whether for small startups or global companies, I develop tailor-made designs or hero’s journeys that connect people and brands. Because good stories and pictures build bridges – between individuals and ideas, businesses and their audiences.

I specialize in creating cohesive brand identities and designs that reflect the unique vision and values of each organization. My work spans traditional storytelling across books, games, apps, and educational materials for children and adults, as well as innovative corporate projects for museums, publishers, and creative institutions. I provide design strategies and communication concepts that align with your goals, leveraging trends and real-time data to engage your audience effectively.

If you’re looking for an experienced storyteller and designer to bring your brand or project to life, let’s connect!
